For eligible families, Medi-Cal can cover most medical expenses—but not all. When Medi-Cal can’t pay, Universal Kids Foundation can.
Children who qualify for Medi-Cal and have serious limitations on their daily life activities, and whose families earn below the year’s federal poverty line.
This may include kids who:
-have severe delays or impairment
-have hydrocephalus
-use a wheelchair, walker or crutch
-have cerebral palsy
-require life-support equipment
-have spina bifida
-have traumatic brain injury
-have paraplegia
-have hydrocephalus
-cannot perform fundamental activities on their own (dressing, feeding, bathroom use) need around-the-clock supervision and assistance
-and some combinations of conditions.
